Susan Boyle got a shock she certainly was not expecting when she returned to her Scottish home in Blackburn on Tuesday night – the sight of a robber running out of her house.
Thankfully the global singing phenomenon was not in any way injured, but she was left in some shock after the incident.
It is believed that she was just getting home after recording her part in the Haiti aid song (read about that here) when the incident happened.
A Lothian and Borders Police officer said the following about the incident:
"The owner was very distressed to find someone had been within her home and we are keen to speak to anyone who can assist with our investigations.
"Anyone who was in or around Yule Terrace at the time of the incident and saw or heard anything suspicious is asked to contact police immediately."
She may have been shaken, but it takes a lot to stir Susan, and on Wednesday she was seen smiling and swapping hellos with fans near her home
"I'm fine. It's in the hands of the police now," said Boyle.
A 16-year-old teen was detained but later released without charge.
Can someone get this woman some proper security? Surely the budget is there . . .
