Chris Dodd could face a takedown or two in the Connecticut Senate race as former WWE CEO Linda McMahon has stepped into the political ring to challenge him.

McMahon, wife of Vince McMahon, stepped down as CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (WWE) to enter the race

“I can’t sit on the sidelines anymore. Washington needs some new faces, needs some new blood,” said McMahon.

"I know how to create jobs, and that is what we have to focus on this economy right now, creating jobs,” she continued. “I want to focus on Connecticut and I want to focus on getting back to work."

McMahon will try to secure the Republican nomination, but to do so she will have to defeat Tom Foley, former U.S. Ambassador to Ireland, economist Peter Schiff and favorite U.S. Rep. Rob Simmons.

McMahon has vowed not to take any campaign funding and has put a cap on public donations to $100, and her inclusion promises to further liven up a humdinger of a U.S. Senate race in the constitution state.
