Roger Ailes, president of FOX News, made an apparent dig at CNN anchor Soledad O’Brien’s name following a speaking engagement with University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on Thursday.

Reuters
reports on the comment where Ailes offhandedly drew the connection between O’Brien’s first name and a correctional facility in California. Ailes was on campus for part of the University’s Roy H. Park Distinguished Lecture Series.

Speaking with student journalists following the lecture, Ailes reportedly referred to O’Brien as “that girl that's named after a prison.” Presumably Ailes was referring to Soledad Correctional Training Facility in Monterey County in California.

Hoping to clear the air about her namesake, O’Brien replied to a tweet asking if she was named after the facility by saying "Of course not. Maria de la Soledad means the Virgin Mary."
