The celebration of President Obama’s first 100 days in office was widespread in Ireland, where he has been hailed as the new all conquering hero by a very uncritical press.

Interesting to see, though, if that attitude changes if, as currently thought, a major bill begins to emerge before Congress on the issue aimed at repatriating American tax profits back in America -- a move that would greatly damage multinationals in Ireland and the prospects of them staying there.

Obama has agreed to sign the bill if it comes to his desk, which definitely seems an even money proposition at this point. Wonder what they will be saying in Ireland then.
