A retired fire chief will be marking the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy in Dublin this weekend, at a special event.

Dan Daly, a retired  FDNY fire chief lost 50 colleages at Ground Zero and since the atrocity has travelled the world preaching a message of peace.

On Sunday he will be speaking at the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght, North Dublin about 'The Five Keys to Successful Living'.

The retired firefighter recalls the morning of the attack as a "beautiful crystal clear day". Off duty he was considering taking his own private plane out before a friend contacted him and told him to switch on the TV.

He immediately went to the World Trade Center site were 50 of his colleagues perished. In the aftermath he took part in the bucket brigade and was awarded the NYS Senate Liberty Medal for his efforts.

Since then he has shared his message of peace has traveled to over 100 cities throughout the globe.
