Indicted last summer by King’s County District Attorney Charles Hynes, Levi Aron is expected to plead guilty to the murder of Leiby Kletzky last summer and face 40 years to life in prison with no chance of parole.

Last summer, Levi Aron abducted and killed 8-year-old Leiby Kletzky in Borough Park, Brooklyn. Kletzky had gotten lost on what was his first time walking home - a distance of only seven blocks- by himself from camp.

Aron horrifically murdered the young boy, dismembered him and disposed of his body in several places, including his refrigerator and attic.

Now, Aron will plead guilty to his crimes. “Levi Aron is going to plead guilty to the horrible murder of Leiby,” Assemblyman Dov Hikind told CBS 2′s Sean Hennessey. CBS also learned that Aron will be offering his plea next Thursday, and that Kletzky’s parents will be on hand at the courthouse.

Kletzky’s parents reportedly agreed to the deal as they understandably had no desire to relive the final days of their son’s life and hear the brutal details of his murder.

“They didn’t want to go through a trial just because, I think everyone could imagine, to have to listen to the horror, to have to listen to the details,” Hikind said.

Aron’s lawyer Jennifer McCann had no comment and would neither confirm nor deny as to whether or not Aron would fight the charges.

The Wall Street Journal reports that at the time of Aron’s indictment, many thought that Aron’s lawyers would pursue an insanity defense, and accuse investigators of garnering Aron’s confession via coercion. District Attorney Charles Hynes, however, vowed to fight Aron’s attorneys on any such defense, and promised swift justice for the Kletzky family. Aron was, in turn, found fit to sit trial.

Hikind, who is acting as a spokesman for the Kletzky family, said to the New York Times that Leiby’s parents planned to read a statement next week. “The statement talks about faith and God and moving on,” he said. “It is a statement of amazing faith in God. And faith in humanity.”
