Dramatic scenes unfolded in Dublin’s city center on Tuesday morning as commuters saved a schoolgirl whose leg was stuck beneath a tram carriage.

The incident took place at the Jervis Street LUAS tram stop when a schoolgirl’s leg got stuck between the carriage and the pavement. The video shows the surrounding commuters rallying together and pushing the carriage away from the footpath as the schoolgirl can be heard screaming in pain.

In the video, posted by Łukasz Piguła, who is from Poland and lives in Dublin, you can hear someone mention calling the fire brigade before the crowd comes together and attempts to push the carriage. Upon the second attempt the carriage moves and the young woman was released.

Miraculously, when she is released someone has to warn the schoolgirl not to stand. She was taken to the Mater Hospital but suffered only minor injuries.
