Irish professional boxer, Michael McLaughlin, is set to return to action on Thursday, February 26.

Murphys Boxing have confirmed, the 30-year-old Donegal boxer, 9-1-1 will be part of their Memorial Series on Feb. 26 at the Memorial Hall in Melrose.

The popular Irish boxer who fought last at October's 'Monster Brawl' boxing card in Plymouth, MA and earned himself another TKO against Paolo Sousa in the second round.

"My opponent pulled out on the day of the weigh in, " recalls the Donegal native, " I ended up being up against, Paolo Sousa, a fighter I already beat once before. I knocked him out in the second round again."

After taking some time out over the Christmas period, Mc Laughlin, is back with renewed energy and said " I am feeling really good about this fight in Melrose."

Adding "I've been training hard for the fight for the last six-weeks and I'm feeling confident on getting the win and moving onto my next victim."

After this fight on Feb. 26, McLaughlin is expected to travel to New York for a St. Patrick's Day Brawl before possibly heading to Chicago.

The southpaw fighter said "The New York fight will be a big step up in class for me and I want it. Right now, I am feeling confident and prepared."

"My focus this year is to stay as busy and get these big fights across country."
