Tina Fey once again donned her Sarah Palin getup last weekend on Saturday Night Live, the same role that gained the comedian global fame during the 2008 presidential elections.

Fey’s memorable Palin character appeared in a segement on the Republican presidential debate, dressed in her signature red blazer and perfectly volumized hair.

She received loud laughs and a rapturous applause from the audience throughout the comedy sketch.

"First I wanted to acknowledge that this week we vanquished one of the world's great villains, and I for one am thrilled to say 'good riddance to Katie Couric," she quipped.

She also joked that she had been extending her knowledge on foreign policy and had travelled to the Middle East for a cameo in “Hangover 3”.

"I also recently purchased Rosetta Stone English," she added.

After six seasons with SNL, Fey left her position as head writer in 2006 to focus on her now-hit show “30 Rock”.
