The 35-year-old actress, Rosamund Pike, who stars alongside Ben, 42, in the movie adaptation of Gillian Flynn's novel 'Gone Girl' - was so entertained by his sense of humor on set she thinks he should pursue a career in comedy.

She told People.com: "When we first were doing makeup tests I thought, 'This guy could be a standup comedian'.

"He has characters and impersonations ... accents. He quickly crystallizes you."

The blonde beauty added that it's clear Ben - who has Violet, eight, Seraphina, four, and Samuel, two, with his wife Jennifer Garner - has grown up in a female dominated household as the pair often gossiped together in their trailer.

She explained: "He's very fun. He's obviously got a son now, but you can feel he is surrounded by girls in his house.

"We would be in the makeup trailer and we very quickly got to talking about very gossipy female things and he just gets right stuck in it."

Meanwhile, the film's director David Fincher recently revealed the 'Argo' star's smile landed him the part in the hotly anticipated thriller.

He said: "You cast movies based on critical scenes. In 'Gone Girl' there's a smile the guy has to give when the local press asks him to stand next to a poster of his missing wife.

"I flipped through Google Images and found about 50 shots of Affleck giving that kind of smile in public situations."
