He may have skipped out on several high-profile U.S. interviews for the new season of “The Tudors” due to an undisclosed “illness,” but Jonathan Rhys Meyers is looking as fit and healthy as ever.

The Irish megastar from Cork was spotted out and about in West Hollywood shooting some hoops with a buddy.

Rhys Meyers, decked out in a tight fitting white tank and brown velvet sweats, looked healthy to most passers-by.

The Irish actor, who plays King Henry VIII in the hit Showtime series “The Tudors,” will be back in Dublin this summer to shoot the fourth season of the steamy show.

The star came under fire earlier this month after he pulled out of a New York press campaign for the hit TV show.

Rhys Meyers said he was too "ill" to appear on scheduled TV talk shows but many critics had commented on his dishevelled appearance at the premiere party for Tudors in New York.

Rhys Meyers spent time in rehab in 2007 to treat alcohol abuse and Hollywood gossips claim he returned in February for another stint.
