A body language expert has decoded Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson’s ‘double bluff’ to ‘hide the fact they’re getting closer’ amid rumors that the two are a romantic couple.
Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson have quickly become the internet’s new obsession as they carry out press commitments for new film, "The Naked Gun" - which was released on August 1st.
The stars have reportedly struck up a romance after the movie saw them work together on-screen for the first time, and body language expert Inbaal Honigman has weighed in on why she thinks they are ‘double bluffing’ the public in order to ‘hide the fact they’re getting closer’.
Speaking on behalf of Spin Genie, Inbaal notes the actors’ ‘exaggerated, comical expressions’ and ‘performative shock’ after their kiss on the Today Show, and says the real way to gauge their relationship is how they act sitting side-by-side.
Inbaal says their closeness shows how comfortable they are in each other’s company, but says they are likely ‘not a couple yet’ as they are not actually touching each other.
She shares signs Pamela is ‘undoubtedly attracted’ to her co-star, such as ‘turning her face towards him attentively and smiles broadly’, as she ‘showers him with attention’.

Meanwhile, Inbaal reveals more ‘subtle’ signs from Liam, which indicates her support is ‘important to him’ and he is ‘happy to be there with her’, while noting the ‘protective’ gestures from both which suggest their romance is new, private and still ‘figuring out where they stand’.
Speaking on behalf of Spin Genie, Inbaal Honigman says:
Pair display ‘performative shock’ after their kiss on the Today Show
"Their 'Today Show' live on-air smooch has got tongues wagging, which it was designed to do. The 'are they aren't they' conversation has dominated the film's promotional run, and their Today Show appearance featured an 'accidental on purpose' kiss between the two actors. That kiss was described as 'passionate' by the media but it was anything but. It was a fun TV gag during which we see their lips lock for a short second, and then they feign shock at being caught, with exaggerated, comical expressions. Pamela's raised eyebrows and 'O' shaped mouth convey surprise, but in a cartoonish way, she's playing up for the audiences.
"Liam gives a typically intense performance of shock, narrowing his eyes, glancing from side to side and thinning his lips to convey stress. Their expressions are so over-the-top, showing that they want the viewers to be in on the joke. It is a slapstick canoodle to help promote a slapstick movie. It is actually during the interview, when the actors are sitting side by side, that we can gauge their relationship."
Pamela and Liam likely ‘not a couple yet’ as they are ‘not actually touching each other’
"They sit close together, their bodies almost touching but never quite making contact. Their closeness shows how comfortable they are in each other's company, but as they're not actually touching, it is likely that they're not yet a couple. Pamela leans quite deeply towards Liam during the interview, she turns her face towards him, attentively, and smiles broadly. She's undoubtedly attracted to her co-star and she shows it by showering him with attention. Liam leans more subtly towards Pamela, which indicates that her support is important to him. His smile is genuine, he is happy to be there with her, but his body language cues are more guarded."
‘Protective’ gestures from both suggest their romance is ‘new’ and ‘private’
"Most importantly - both actors have their hands clasped in front of them, in a protective gesture. They don't want to reveal anything about their relationship because it is new, it is private, and they aren't even sure whether they're fully together or not. By using protective gestures, they're asking for some space while they figure out where they stand."
