The Irish American actor, Kevin McCarthy, of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" fame, has died at the age of 96.
McCarthy had appeared in various stage, film and TV productions over his career. He was also nominated for an Academy Award for his role in the movie version of, Arthur Miller's play, "Death of a Salesman".
He earned most recognition through his role in "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" when he played a doctor who tries to warn his fellow townsfolk about the arrival of these "pod people. He was best known for the scene when he runs into traffic shouting warnings like "They're not human" and "You're next".
In 2008 the movie was chosen by the American Film Institute to be part of the top ten science-fiction movies of all time.
