Colin Farrell may star in remake of Schwarzenegger classic ‘Total Recall’

Irish hottie Colin Farrell is reportedly being lined up to star in the remake of the Paul Verhoeven/Arnold Schwarzenegger film "Total Recall."

If chosen for the role, Farrell would play Douglas Quaid (Schwarzenegger) in the movie.

"Total Recall" is a 1990 American science fiction action film.

The film stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sharon Stone, Ronny Cox, Michael Ironside, and Rachel Ticotin.

The plot concerns an apparently unsophisticated construction worker, Douglas Quaid (Schwarzenegger), who turns out to be a freedom fighter from Marswho has been relocated to Earth, and his attempts to restore order, and reverse the corrupt influence of commercial powers.

Other names in the hat for the role are Tom Hardy and Michael Fassbender.

Len Wiseman of "Underworld" fame was announced as director of a script by Kurt Wimmer.

The new movie will be a more contemporary version of the 1990 hit.

Farrell recently finished up filming two movies, "Fright Night" and "Horrible Bosses," and may be free to do the movie if he is interested.
