Cara Delevingne and Orlando Bloom costar in the new Amazon Prime series 'Carnival Row'
Cara Delevingne, British supermodel turned actress, co-stars with Orlando Bloom in Amazon Prime’s buzzy new fantasy series 'Carnival Row,' and the British beauty made her character, Vignette Stonemoss, Irish.

“A human detective and a fairy rekindle a dangerous affair in a Victorian fantasy world, where the city’s uneasy peace collapses when a string of murders reveals an unimaginable monster,” is how IMDb describes the plotline. Cara is the fairy, and she told the Associated Press recently that she thought Vignette would be better played with an Irish accent.
“The first audition I did I asked to do it in both Irish and English even though it wasn’t asked for in Irish, I just always saw it that way. Always,” she said.

Londoner Cara, 27, has fronted ad campaigns for some of the world’s most coveted brands such as Burberry, Chanel, Tag Heuer and many more. Acting has been her thing, though, for the last few years, and having the chance to use one of her favorite accents, Irish, was golden.
“Irish, in my opinion, is one of the most beautiful, and the way they speak and the lyrical way of their words, it just made more sense for the kind of romantic creatures that fairies are, so that just felt extremely important to me,” said Cara, who spent a day in Dublin among the locals to see if she could speak like a proper Irish woman.
“I actually went to Dublin and walked around for a day, not just for this reason, but I was like, ‘Now I’m here I am going to see if I can actually get away with this,’” she said.
“Luckily my name is Cara, which is also Gaelic, so I walked around and spoke to people in this accent and everyone was like ‘Oh, you’re from Dublin?'”
“I didn’t know anywhere, I had never been there before, but it worked well enough.”
Surprising that no one actually recognized her in Dublin – she must have been in deep disguise as she’s got more than 53 million followers on social media.
