Ben Affleck has been named as the favorite to direct “American Bulls**t”, a movie based on an Eric Warren Singer script.

“The Town” direct is set to direct the movie which was number eight on the 2010 Black List, a listing of the best unproduced screenplays in Hollywood.

The list describes the movie as “the true story of Abscam, the FBI's 1980 undercover sting operation of Congress to root out corruption which was the brainchild of the world's greatest con man".

Sony Pictures Entertainment has already taken charge of the project with Charlie Roven producing through Atlas Entertainment. Affleck is yet to commit to the project but he is said to be seriously considering.

According to Hollywood reports he is also considering two other films. The first is “The Trade” a real-life wife swap drama. The second is “Replay” which tells the story of a 43-year old radio journalist who dies, wakes up in his 18-year old body, and gets to relive his life over and over.
