Arianna Huffington, Betty White and Rosie O’Donnell celebrated the top women in the media on Monday at the 2011 Matrix Awards in New York City.

The award ceremony honors the top women in the media and their achievements.

Recipients include women working in television, advertising, public relations and technology.

“Golden Girl’s” star Betty White was given the lifetime achievement award. The actress spoke via satellite from Los Angeles.

“It’s wonderful to be a role model at 89… it’s wonderful to be anything at 89,” said White.

Her advice was to keep doing what you are passionate about, “long after people assume you’re dead.”

Arianna Huffington presented the Matrix Award to Facebook Coo Sheryl Sandberg.

“Sheryl is like my little sister,” said Huffington. “Mark Zuckerberg has made some smart moves, none so much as hiring Sandberg.”

Rosie O’Donnell was notably upbeat when she delivered  to PMK*BNC Chairman and CEO Cindi Berger.

“Without her, I wouldn’t be around. I would be on a macadamia nut farm with Roseanne Barr,” said the talk-show host.
