The awkward moment when the show is more kilts than Kiedis.

UK native Duncan Robb thought he had pulled out all the stops by buying his girlfriend tickets to see her favorite rock band, the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Realizing the show was on February 10th in Belfast, the Chesterfield resident attempted to "kill two birds with one stone" and turn the excursion into a romantic Valentine's Day trip.

"When I clicked on and got tickets in row Q and for 30 each I thought what a bargain, there must not be many tickets left and snatched them up straight away," he explained to Storyful.

The half Northern-Irish man printed out the tickets and gave them to his thrilled partner on Christmas Day, who was so elated that she didn't realize the spelling difference.
In January, when the official tickets arrived in the mail, the error still went unnoticed. It was only when Duncan's girlfriend went to check who the support act was, she was baffled to find no upcoming Irish dates for the Chilis.


Instead of tickets to the iconic Red Hot Chili Peppers, it was revealed that Robb had unwittingly purchased seats for a Red Hot Chili Pipers gig - the self proclaimed "most famous bagpipe band on the planet."

In good spirits, the couple took the mixup light-heartedly.

"We just had to laugh about it - what else was there to do! The only saving grace was that we had found out three days before and not while we were in the arena!"
In good faith, they even attended the gig.
