Liam Neeson is the subject of a lot of intense online fan fiction. This latest thread questions the likelihood of the actor's immortality.

Irish thespian Liam Neeson has a habit of playing God-like and immortal characters. Case in point: Zeus, Qui-Gon Jinn, Ra's Al Ghul, Aslan, and not least - the chilling, vengeful father in "Taken".

A photo of an artwork has appeared on viral website 9GAG - which purports to represent the Antrim native in a bygone era.

"Liam Neeson is immortal" the original poster exclaims, as they reference a painting formerly used on the cover of 1862 Russian novel, "Fathers and Sons" by Ivan Turgenev.

Commenters on the post are divided as to whether the painting truly resembles Neeson.

"Liam Neelson and Shia Labeouf ruling the World forever!" - one person writes.

Another retaliated, "That looks nothing like Liam Neeson" while others suggested likeliness to other actors including Adam Driver, James McEvoy, and Kevin Costner.

What do you think? Do you see a Neeson doppelganger?
