Millennial favorite Abercrombie & Fitch have a new influencer in mind: John F. Kennedy. Here's how the brand's latest collection was all started by a pair of vintage chinos.
The 125-year-old heritage brand have revealed their newest muse, and it's none other than the he 35th President of the United States, John F. Kennedy.
In fact, here's something you may not know. What became a mall staple in recent decades, was actually the go-to brand for Kennedy and many other luminaries.
According to Forbes, Abercrombie & Fitch have outfitted everyone from Amelia Earhart (in flight jackets) and Ernest Hemingway (in fishing gear) to former President Teddy Roosevelt (a keen outdoorsman).
Kennedy himself was a fan of what the so-called "Greatest Sporting Goods Store in the World” had to offer. The well-dressed President favored Abercrombie & Fitch chinos: a signature of his preppy New England style.

A pair of chinos previously owned by JFK went on auction last year - prompting the brand to purchase them for their own archive. Inspired, the design team sought to use them for a new modern collection integrated with classic Americana style signatures.
"The opportunity to purchase JFK's Abercrombie & Fitch chinos came through our friends at the Vintage Showroom in London, who have helped us build and curate the brand's archives," Aaron Levine, SVP of Design for Abercrombie & Fitch told Forbes.

"It is an honor to get to work with such a rich heritage, and to offer our customer products with authentic stories is a unique opportunity. The design team has lovingly re-worked the proportions of this chino, for a modern twist which sits higher on the waist, baggier in the leg and cropped at the ankle. It is an iconic style, befitting of an American icon."
The collection also includes outerwear, t-shirts, hoodies, and swim trunks, all designed with a nod to the late President's love for sailing.
