The Minnesota Vikings' loss to the Detroit Lions made them only the fifth team in NFL history to blow halftime leads in each of first three games of a season. The Lions had lost 13 straight games in Minnesota until this weekend.

Calvin Johnson's two touchdowns made him the first player in NFL history to start the season with at least two touchdowns in the first three games of the season. Johnson's second touchdown was his 34th since 2008, the most during that span.

The team that loses the coin toss in overtime is 12-9 in the past 21 regular season games.

Andre Johnson had his 38th 100 yard receiving game against the New Orleans Saints. That is the most of any player since he entered the league. The Houston Texans' other players combined have 15 in franchise history.

Predicting the 2011 NFL Regular Season
-------------------

Tom Brady's second touchdown pass against the Buffalo Bills meant that he had thrown at least two in 12 consecutive regular season games. That ties him for the second longest streak of all-time. His 1327 yards through three games is the most of any that span in NFL history passing Drew Brees' 1257 in 2006.

Brady had four interceptions in 45 pass attempts, opposed to two in his previous seven games and 225 pass attempts. His four interceptions matched his total from last season and eclipsed it for the year. It was the most interceptions Brady threw since 2006 against the Indianapolis Colts.

In each of the six games that Brady has thrown four interceptions, the Patriots have lost. 122 quarterbacks have thrown four or more interceptions in a game since 2000, their record stands at 6-117.

The Buffalo Bills finally beat the New England Patriots after 15 consecutive losses dating back to 2003. The Bills are the first team in NFL history to win two straight games in which they trailed by at least 18 points in each game. The Bills at 3-0 are the only remaining unbeaten AFC team, the first time since starting 5-0 in 1991.

Drew Brees' touchdown to Robert Meachem against the Houston Texans made it 30 straight games with a touchdown pass for the quarterback. That ties him with Dan Marino for the third longest streak in NFL history. Johnny Unitas leads with 47 while Brett Favre managed 36.

Ladanian Tomlinson is the third player in NFL history with 160 total touchdowns, joining hall of famers Emmith Smith and Jerry Rice.

Torrey Smith is the only rookie to ever have three touchdown receptions in one quarter of football. Furthermore, Smith is the only player in NFL history to have his first three receptions in his career go for touchdowns.

Darren McFadden's 171 yards rushing was the most by any player against the New York Jets since Rex Ryan became head coach in 2009. He is just the fourth 100 yard rusher against the Jets under Ryan: Maurice Jones-Drew, Matt Forte and Cedric Benson.

Also, the Jets allowed the most rushing yards as a team by any with Rex Ryan on the coaching staff, since 1995 when he was part of the Cardinals against the Seattle Seahawks.

There have been 33 individual 300 yard passing games this season, which is the most through the first three weeks in NFL history. The previous best was 21 in 2009.

Punter Brett Kern led the Tennessee Titans in rushing today, both he and Chris Johnson finished the game with 21 yards. Kern's came on one carry while Johnson had 13 attempts.

The San Diego Chargers offense has struggled, reflected by Philip Rivers throwing at least two interceptions in three straight games for the first time in his career.

Wes Welkers' 16 receptions for 217 yards was a career high against the Buffalo Bills.

Since Robert Mathis rookie season in 2003, he and Dwight Freeney rank first and second in the whole league in forced fumbles. Mathis with 35, Freeney with 34.
