The media, fans and paparazzi are getting to be too much for Robert Pattinson.

The 24-year-old superstar has been catapulted into the world stage over the last two years as the “Twilight” movies became an international obsession and now friends of Pattinson are getting worried about how he’s coping with all of this attention, according to Look magazine.

Known for his self-deprecation Pattinson’s friends describe him as intensely private and say that he dislikes having cameras follow him and tabloid speculating on his private like.

“Kristin’s is absolutely frantic about Rob,” a source told Look. “She’s never known him to get so upset.”

“He’s gone from obscurity to being one of the biggest stars on the planet and the pressure he’s under is unbelievable. She’s trying to keep his spirits up but she’s worried he needs more support than he lets on.”

According to the report, on July 24 Pattinson crashed into a parked car in Malibu, California while trying to get away from paparazzi. He then got out of the car and confronted them.

Even before he had reached his current level of stardom, back in 2009, he said “I used to love playing live at open mics at bars…You could go nuts and be completely free. It would be a cathartic experience for me…I’ve lost a huge chunk of my life."

Pattinson has also said that his living conditions do not help his stress levels. He said “"My home consists of three suitcases which I live out of…Everything is in there."

Pattinson has just finished filming “Water for Elephants” in Tennessee. Soon he’ll begin filming the final two movies of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.” On August 9 he will make his next public appearance at the 2010 Teen Choice Awards.

When is this poor chap meant to relax and enjoy his success?
