The 'Twilight' actress – who was voted sixth sexiest woman in the world in an FHM magazine poll last year – hates it when people praise her for her appearance, insisting she doesn't feel as attractive as she is perceived to be.

When asked how she feels about being called "hot," Kristen replied: "I can't stand that. What does that even mean? I don’t feel hot."

The actress – who is dating her 'Twilight Saga' co-star Robert Pattinson –gets self conscious of people when she is out in public, although she admits she would do the same if she saw a celebrity in the street.

She told Closer magazine: "I have to pick and choose where I'm going. I have can become very reclusive. Sometimes I'm like, 'Oh, I can't deal with anything right now, I can't see anybody.'

"I know what I'm like, and if I knew that an actor was nearby, I'd be interested.

"I'm a people watcher and I'd definitely choose that person to watch. It's human nature to look at others and everyone is the same. So for a while I was definitely a bit self conscious."
