More than 3,000 people attended the Working Abroad Expo, an emigration job fair, in Dublin on Saturday with thousands more expected today.

Long lines formed from early in the morning despite heavy rain.

Hundreds of jobs in healthcare, construction, engineering, and other industries are available in countries such as Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The event brought together migration officials, recruitment agencies and government representatives and is expected to draw great interest.

“There is plenty of opportunity for all and many people may just find they fall into a category. We are recruiting for a wide variety of positions,” Christopher Willis of Canadian Visa Specialists told the Irish Times.
