Scéal.ie, launching today, Thursday, October 30, unveils a renewed identity, a modern design, and expanded features to make information about the Irish language more accessible to everyone.
After more than a decade as the main digital hub for the Irish language, PEIG.ie is being relaunched with a new name, fresh design, and a stronger focus on connecting and empowering the Irish language community.
Scéal.ie - a redesigned, rebranded, and revitalised digital platform - was officially launched today at Oireachtas na Samhna in Belfast. It is an initiative of Conradh na Gaeilge and is funded by Foras na Gaeilge.

Over the years, PEIG.ie has been a central online destination for Irish-language news, events, job vacancies, and resources. In recent times, it has evolved into a valuable space for speakers, learners, and organisations alike.
Scéal.ie builds on that strong foundation with a modern, accessible design that offers an enhanced user experience across all devices. Visitors will find clear navigation and a clean layout that makes it easier than ever to access information. A new interactive map allows users to register or browse Irish-language events in Ireland and abroad, while a simplified English-language interface ensures the platform is welcoming for all levels of fluency.
Designed to be the central information point for the Irish language, Scéal.ie offers a comprehensive overview of opportunities and resources - from the latest news and information on language rights and services, to listings of Irish-language events in Ireland and overseas.
Ciarán Mac Giolla Bhéin, President of Conradh na Gaeilge, said: “Scéal.ie marks an important new chapter for the Irish-language community.
"It provides a single, trusted place for people to access information, events, and opportunities related to the language.
"It’s now easier than ever for people to find information, get involved, and discover new ways to use Irish in their daily lives.”
Speaking about Scéal.ie, Fionnuala Ní Uallacháin, Multimedia Executive and Awareness Hub Manager, said: “We asked users what they wanted from the site - what worked, what didn’t, and what would make things easier - and we listened.
"People wanted one place where they could easily find everything about Irish: from news and events to jobs and learning opportunities.
"This isn’t just a redesign - it’s about making information more accessible, engaging, and relevant for today’s community.
"Scéal.ie brings a contemporary design, smarter navigation, and an improved user experience, creating one central hub of information for the Irish language.”
