The daughter of a Tyrone bookie who was murdered exactly 20 years ago has spoken out pleading for help in catching the armed gang who shot down her father.
Lorna O’Mahony said that the lives of everyone in the family had been destroyed by his death. Dessie Fox was shot and robbed of $31,666 as he travelled to the horse race meeting at the Curragh in County Kildare.
His daughter said “We miss him every day, we miss talking to him, asking his advice, sharing our day to day lives with him."
She was only 15-years-old when her father bled to death at the side of the road. He continued “"Even as a teenager I could see the respect, admiration and affection that people had for him," she said.
"He never had the chance to raise his family, grow older and enjoy retirement with my mum. I just loved being with him."
Back in 1990, 17 people were arrested in relation to the shooting but no one was ever charged.
