The Obama re-election camp has corrected their four-leaf clover gaffe and released a special “I Shamrock O’Bama” t-shirt just in time for St. Patrick’s Day.

Last month, many Irish-American Obama supporters were surprised to find a four-leaf clover plastered on their St. Patrick’s Day themed merchandise, considering the three leaf shamrock is a typical symbol seen on St. Patrick’s Day. But the latest t-shirt available on their online store bears a proper shamrock.

“Due to the overwhelming popularity of our O’Bama Tee,” the ad reads, “we are expanding our line of Saint Patrick’s Day fashion!”

“Now you can buy the “O'Bama” Tee and the “I Shamrock O’Bama” Tee together in our new pack.”

In mid-February the election camp had emailed supporters informing them about the March 17 themed merchandise.

"St. Patrick's Day is around the corner. This year, show your support for a presidential candidate with Irish roots: Barack Obama," the email read

"You might recall that back in 2007, as he was on the campaign trail, the President found out about his Irish ancestry. Last year, he traveled with the First Lady to pay a visit to Moneygall, the town of 300 people where his great-great-great-grandfather was born, and jokingly told a crowd there: 'My name is Barack Obama, of the Moneygall Obamas, and I've come home to find the apostrophe we lost somewhere along the way.”

The New York Times
had reported that some supporters of the current President were annoyed by the error.
