Irish singer Roisin Murphy is pregnant with her first child.

The star, who was spotted wearing a rather frumpy dress in England last week, is said to be over the moon.

Murphy has just teamed up with Irish singer Sinead O'Connor for a remake of Chaka Khan's hit "I'm Every Woman" for the women's charity Action Aid.

"It's a bit of a depressing version of the song, it's more haunting and soulful but I think it represents what it's about really well," she said.

Murphy, who was raised in Arklow, County Wicklow in Ireland, was the former lead singer with the British band Moloko.

They split in 2003 and Murphy went on to build a successful solo career.

The news is already all over Twitter with none other than Perez Hilton tweeting congratulations to Murphy.
