Anthony Boyle in 'The Altruists.'Netflix
Anthony Boyle is coming back to our screens and looking very different in his latest role.
"The House Of Guinness" star is playing the lead in "The Altruists", a series based around the rise and subsequent fall from grace of Sam Bankman-Fried, founder of FTX and cryptocurrency firm Alameda Research, and his business partner and one-time girlfriend Caroline Ellison.
Both set out to change the financial system, and at the height of Alameda's success, Bankman-Fried was among the wealthiest men in America.
When the cryptocurrency exchange collapsed in 2022 amid allegations of fraud, he was accused of stealing $8 billion and arrested on seven counts of criminal activity, including wire fraud, commodities fraud, and money laundering, among other charges.
