The blaze broke out on Wednesday morning, with Dublin Fire Brigade receiving a call just before 10.30am on Tuesday.

Along with the fire engines, an emergency tender, a Hazardous Material unit, two District Officers and an ambulance attended the scene.

The fire unfolded on the seventh floor of the Pearse Street location, and was later brought under control by firefighters.

No injuries were reported, a statement from Dublin Fire Brigade confirmed.

A statement from the brigade told Extra.ie: "Dublin Fire Brigade were called to a fire in a laboratory in the city centre at 1029 hours on Wednesday the 17th of June 2026.

"In total, five fire engines, an emergency tender, a Hazardous Material unit, two District Officers and an ambulance attended the scene.

"The fire was declared under control at 1257 hours and no injuries have been reported."

They added that traffic control measures were put in place, and Gardaí remain at the scene.

"The incident has been scaled back and as of 1315 hours, three fire engines, two District Officers and a Hazardous Material unit remain on scene," the statement concluded.

A Trinity College spokesperson reiterated that no injuries were reported, adding that no teaching would take place in the building on Wednesday.
