Caroline O’Donoghue with the cast of the adaptation of her book "The Rachel Incident."Channel 4
We don't know what magic Hollywood has been conjuring of late, but it's on a great run of fab movies and shows, which is only set to continue with so many new projects in the works.
Even better, lots of these new projects have links to Irish talent, so you can consider us seated as we count down to their release dates.
If, like us, you love a good book but also an hour or so lost to a great drama on TV, here are a few of the book-to-screen adaptations we've got our eye on...
"Boys of Tommen"
BookTok is still on the fence about this book-to-screen adaptation, which is in the works at Prime Video, mainly because of how beloved the series is, but we have high hopes.
Penned by Irish author Chloe Walsh, the series follows the lives of teenagers in the fictional town of Ballylaggin, Cork, with Johnny and Shannon being the main focus of the first two books.
Johnny, who'll be played by Conor Sánchez, is the rugby-playing golden boy at his private school, while Shannon, who'll be played by Nancy Surridge, is a painfully shy girl hiding a troubled home life.
If you've read the books, then you'll know the content is at times tough going, but there are plenty of tender moments showing the strength of community and friendship as well.
"God of the Woods"
"The God of the Woods" by Liz Moore was a novel that seemed to be everywhere last summer, and now it's getting turned into a TV series by Netflix.
Set in the 1970s in North America, the story follows the investigation into 13-year-old Barbara Van Laar's disappearance from summer camp... 14 years after her brother went missing.
Ireland's very own Kerry Condon will play Barbara's mum, Alice Van Laar, in the show, so it's definitely going on our watch list.

"Grown Ups"
On the back of RTÉ's "The Walsh Sisters," Netflix has announced "Grown Ups," an eight-part drama based on Irish author Marian Keyes' best-selling novel.
Even better, it's packed full of Irish talent with stars such as Aisling Bea, Barry Ward, Sarah Greene, and Robert Sheehan all signing on for the project.
"Grown Ups" follows the chaotic lives of the Casey family, a "noisy, tight-knit Irish family, who are bound together by a tangled web of loyalty, resentment, money, memory, and love."
"The Rachel Incident"
Another Irish author’s work that is set to be brought to life on the small screen is "The Rachel Incident" by Caroline O’Donoghue.
Filming for the eight-part series at Channel 4 started in February, with Máiréad Tyers and Sarah Greene, who is also filming "Grown Ups," playing the two female leads.
If you’ve not read the book yet, "The Rachel Incident" follows student Rachel and James, who end up entwined with Rachel’s professor, Fred, and his wife, Deenie.
"Walk The Blue Fields"
Claire Keegan's "Walk The Blue Fields, the title story in her collection of seven short stories, will soon be brought to life in film form by Netflix.
Emily Blunt has signed on to play the lead role, and she'll be joined by a great roster of Irish talent in Andrew Scott and renowned actor Ciarán Hinds.
The film's logline reads: "On her wedding day, a woman’s future is thrown into doubt when she is confronted with a heart-wrenching decision, as a love triangle from her past threatens to be revealed."
