The well-known American human rights advocate and niece of President John F. Kennedy, Kerry Kennedy, is due to visit and speak at this year’s Kennedy Summer School in County Wexford.
In addition to Kennedy, John Weaver, the campaign strategist for presidential campaigns such as those of John McCain and John Kasich, will also be featured at the event.
Topics that will be discussed at this year’s event range from a whole host of issues in both Irish and American politics, with speakers from both countries offering their insight into these matters.

The Irish speakers that will be featured are Phil Hogan, the European Union Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development; and Miriam O’Callaghan, an Irish TV current affairs presenter for RTÉ.

Kennedy is currently the President of Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights and since 1981, she has been involved in combating numerous issues such as child labor, disappearances, indigenous land rights, judicial independence, and many more.

In terms of gathering investment for human rights advocacy, Kennedy founded and runs RFK Compass, which hosts meetings twice a year for institutional investors who have around $5-7 trillion in assets to respond to the impact of human rights abuses on investment outcomes.
Kennedy is also on the board for several human rights groups such as the U.S. Institute of Peace, Human Rights First, Ethics in Action, Health eVillages, as well as many others.
