Irish male celebrities are leading the charge when it comes to the world’s sexiest voices, according to a new study.
With searches for “audio erotica” surging 67% in just three months, sexy lingerie experts Pour Moi set out to discover which celebrity voices are scientifically the sexiest.
The findings come just as 'The Summer I Turned Pretty’s' Christopher Briney made headlines announcing he’s the latest celebrity to collaborate with audio erotica app Quinn to narrate ‘Hidden Harbour,' a new immersive romance series.
But Briney isn’t the only voice listeners crave, with Irish celebrities dominating the sexiest male voices list.
For Pour Moi's research, participants listened to and reviewed 100 celebrity voices, ranking them on pitch, volume, speed, and general attractiveness. Results were then cross-referenced with multiple scientific studies that reveal the formula for a sexy voice.
According to the study, Celtic accents (Irish, Scottish, and Welsh) are a big hit with listeners and make voices sound ‘sexier.'
The research highlights the universal allure of Celtic accents: more than half of the top 10 male voices were either Scottish or Irish. With the Irish accent frequently voted one of the most attractive in the world, these findings might come as little surprise.

Ireland's dominance in the global top 10
Male Irish celebrities dominated the top 10 sexiest voice lists, with two ranking spots.
Irish actor Paul Mescal, known for his roles in ‘Normal People’ and ‘Gladiator II', ranked highest of all Celts, securing 2nd place globally. His rugged, husky accent and calm delivery were clearly a winning combination for listeners, making his accent irresistible. The Maynooth-born actor was also named the third sexiest celebrity voice out of both male and female celebrities.
It may be no surprise that '50 Shades of Grey' star Jamie Dornan also made the top 10 list of sexiest male celebrity voices given his steamy film past. The Northern-Ireland born actor impressed listeners with a voice described as "sensual", with many admitting his distinctive brogue made him sound "sexier.'

The celebrity voice making people thirstiest is Australian actor Chris Hemsworth, who topped both the sexiest male celebrity list and the sexiest celebrity voices list overall.
Meanwhile, Mexican-American actress Salma Hayek was found to have the sexiest celebrity female voice and the second sexiest of all celebrity voices.
