'The Green and Red of Mayo' reaches new heights on Ryanair

A recent Ryanair flight was treated to a live performance of The Saw Doctors’ hit song ‘The Green and Red of Mayo’ from a group of Irish students.

The group of secondary students was given the okay to take over the in-flight PA system for some impromptu entertainment. Dublin Live has named the lead singer as Peter Fahy, a secondary school student from Co Mayo.

On Facebook, the Mayo GAA Banter page shared the video that has since amassed more than 17 thousand views:

The page indicated that the group of students, from Balla Secondary School in Co Mayo, were en route to Krakow in Poland from Dublin when the singsong broke out.

'The Green and Red of Mayo' has become a fan-favorite for people from Co Mayo and was originally recorded by The Saw Doctors, who are similarly famous for their tunes 'N17' and 'I Useta Love Her.'
