The recent spell of heavy rain has made the use of machinery impossible, so his beet crop has to be hand-picked.
Yesterday, Met Éireann forecaster Mark Bowe said: "It looks like the rain is going to stay the course for the week ahead."
Unfortunately, more flooding can be expected in certain parts of the country as land already saturated from the past three weeks can’t soak up any more rain.
Mr Bowe said: "We’ve certainly seen our fair share of rain over the past while. A fairly active jet stream running to our south is basically bringing weather systems on a conveyor belt over Ireland over the next couple of days.
"It is going to be wetter than normal over this coming week and it will be slightly cooler as well."
A blustery and showery day is expected today, and tonight will see temperatures drop to freezing.
Tomorrow, the weather is expected to be overcast, turning wet in the southwest with bands of rain moving in, again possibly turning wintry with falls of sleet on high ground.
Rain will spread through Connacht, Munster and south Leinster overnight with lowest temperatures of 0C to 4C, possibly dropping lower locally.
Wednesday will see another unsettled day with overcast skies and rain spreading in from the west early in the morning, becoming widespread by evening.
Met Éireann suggests it will remain unsettled up to Thursday and into Friday.
