"Ireland with Michael," the public television travel and music series, returns for its sixth season on PBS stations across the US, continuing its mission to connect US audiences with the island’s vibrant culture, landscapes, and heritage.
Hosted by Emmy-nominated Irish tenor and producer Michael Londra, season six introduces eight new episodes that deepen the show’s commitment to showcasing Ireland’s people, artistry, and sense of place.
Viewers explore the island through the lens of musicians, artisans, storytellers, and historians — while experiencing the traditions and contemporary influences that continue to shape Irish culture today.
“Every journey through Ireland is a story, and every little town has a song,” says Londra.
“In season six, we connect those stories to the millions of viewers who feel Ireland as a part of who they are. Whether someone has family from Wexford, Donegal, or Mayo, or simply has a love of Irish music and culture, the show offers a small homecoming.
"We highlight the living culture of Ireland — the music in the pubs, the artisans in the workshops, the guides, the chefs, and the storytellers — the people who make Ireland special.”

The premiere follows a period of significant growth for the series and marks it as one of the most popular Irish programs on the network. Enjoying steady success since its debut, "Ireland with Michael" now reaches over 96% of US households, with episodes from the first five seasons achieving more than 70,000 telecasts on public television. This season builds on that momentum with eight new episodes that take viewers deeper into Ireland’s rich heritage and breathtaking landscapes.

Episode Highlights: Historic + Contemporary Ireland
Season six takes audiences from sacred and historic sites such as the Hill of Tara and Trim Castle to immersive traditions, including road bowling in Armagh and bodhrán-making in Roundstone. The adventure continues with outdoor experiences along the Sliabh Liag Cliffs and culinary storytelling with Long Meadow Cider and Loop Head Distillers.
The season presents Ireland as both storied and modern — celebrating its food, culture, and innovation as a contemporary European nation while honoring the history, music, and landscapes that have shaped Irish identity for centuries.
