Ryan Reynolds, travelled to Edmonton, Canada, to show 13-year-old Connor McGrath his superhero movie before anyone else in the world because he is such a huge fan of the Marvel Comics character. Deadpool gains his special powers after undergoing an experimental mutation treatment to cure his own cancer.
McGrath is battling High Risk A.L.L., a form of childhood leukaemia.
In a Facebook post, Reynolds - who plays the titular character in the movie - said: "Ladies, gentlemen, boys and girls. This is my friend, Connor McGrath. He's quite possibly the biggest #Deadpool fan on earth. He was also the first person ever to see the 'Deadpool' film.
Reynolds - who is married to Blake Lively, with whom he has 14-month-old daughter James - shared the post to raise awareness of Connor's Crowdfunding campaign to bring in funds to pay for the life-saving treatment he needs. The Hollywood superstar has personally donated to Connor's fund which currently stands at $20,000 and has a $800,000 goal.
The highly irreverent Reynolds superhero movie, Deadpool, took in $150 million at the US box office over the four-day President’s Weekend. It has officially broken the record for the highest opening of all time for an R-rated movie.
