Colm Meaney and Sally Field star in "Remarkably Bright Creatures."Netflix
One of our favourite Irish actors and all-around funny man, Colm Meaney, will soon be back on our screens beside the one and only Sally Field.
Netflix has adapted the bestselling novel, Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt, a heartfelt story of loss, support, and an unlikely friendship.
Oh, and did we mention there is an octopus who plays a very vital role in this sweet connection?
Lewis Pullman, who plays Cameron, is new in town and begins working in a local aquarium, where he strikes up a friendship with an octopus and a widow, Tova Sullivan, played by Sally Field.
Both troubled by grief and loss, they strike up a friendship with the marine creature, who is voiced by Alfred Molina, whose mission is to try to bring healing to both souls.
Colm plays the character of Ethan, a strong Scot who is the owner of the local Shop-Way market in town, and often a friendly ear in times of need.
A synopsis of the film shared by Netflix reads: 'A widow (Sally Field) who works at a local aquarium finds joy again when she forms an unlikely bond with a Giant Pacific Octopus and a wayward young man (Lewis Pullman) who comes to town in search of family.
