Hozier has reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 list for the first time with his hit “Too Sweet."
Hozier’s latest single “Too Sweet” hit number on the Billboard Hot 100 list for the week dated April 27, Billboard revealed on Monday, April 22.
“Too Sweet,” from the Co Wicklow native’s EP “Unheard,” debuted at number five on the Billboard list on the week of April 6, climbed to number four the following week, and then number two last week.

Not only did Hozier claim the number one spot on the Hot 100 list, he is also on top of Billboard's Global 200 list this week.

Hozier came close to hitting the top spot a decade ago for his breakout hit "Take Me To Church," which reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100 for the week of December 20, 2014, after debuting a few months earlier in August.
Hozier celebrated his Billboard Hot 100 milestone on social media on Monday.
"I just want to say a huge, huge thank you to all the supporters, all the fans around the world," the 34-year-old Irish singer said.
"We've a number one in Australia, number in New Zealand, number one in Canada.
"We have a number one in the US, and a second week at number one in Ireland and the UK.
"It's absolutely staggering.
"I'm taken massively by surprise by it but I just want to say thank you so, so much for your support. I'm so thrilled that you're enjoying 'Too Sweet.'
"It means the world to me, so thank you."

As Billboard notes, “Too Sweet” is the fifth Hot 100 number one by an Irish act. It's also the first since Sinéad O’Connor’s “Nothing Compares 2 U” in 1990, and the first by a male Irish soloist since Gilbert O’Sullivan’s “Alone Again (Naturally)” in 1972.
