Cork have reclaimed the All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship after narrowly defeating Galway in Croke Park on Sunday.
The Rebels were beaten by the same opposition on the big stage last year, though a second-half surge saw them exact revenge and return to winning ways.
Galway were seeking a second consecutive crown for the first time ever and looked like they could have been heading for glory after a powerful first half.
The teams were level on four occasions during the tense opening half, though the Tribeswomen went into the break on top.
However, Cork burst out of the gates in the second half and managed to get the first goal of the game through Saoirse McCarthy.
It was the first goal that Galway had conceded in the 2026 championship and unfortunately for the Connacht side, it didn’t stop there.
Orlaith Cahalane soon built on the rising Rebel pressure and netted the side’s second goal by burying the ball into the bottom-right corner.
Galway kept fighting back and slowly edged the scoreline closer and closer, but Cork managed to fend off their advances until the final whistle.
The victory earned Cork their 31st O’Duffy Cup in front of a record crowd for a camogie final, with 33,419 turning up at GAA HQ.
The previous attendance milestone was set at 33,154 back in 2007.
