A major US conference hosted by IrishCentral on March 15 sought to explain the complex issue and point a way forward for Brexit. Here's a look back:

 "Understanding Brexit," hosted by IrishCentral, was established with an aim to point a way forward for Brexit, gathering together guests from the business community, journalists covering the departure negotiations, and representatives from both the Irish and British governments to discuss the role of the US and the Irish diaspora in this crisis.

Moderated by former diplomat Ted Smyth, the line-up for "Impact on the US, Ireland and the UK" included Amy Chozick, a political reporter with The New York Times; Ed Luce, National Editor of The Financial Times; Suzanne Lynch, Washington Correspondent with The Irish Times; Danny McCoy, CEO of the Irish Business and Employers Confederation; and Maureen Mitchell, Director of Sterling National Bank.

The second panel, moderated by IrishCentral founder Niall O'Dowd, focused on "Brexit and Business," with Anthony Phillipson, Her Majesty’s Consul General & Trade Commissioner for North America, speaking alongside Patricia Etzold, Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers; Shaun Kelly, Global Chief Operations Officer at KPMG; Mark Redmond, Chief Executive of the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland; and Martin Shanahan, CEO at IDA Ireland.
