“It was an absolute disgrace," shocked mourner told Corks RedFM

A couple was found having sex in an Irish graveyard, leaving one mourner "horrified."

The unnamed woman, who said she hoped to “shame” the couple, recorded a short video of the couple and shared it with Cork’s RedFM radio station.

The woman wrote to Neil Prenderville, a host on the station, saying: "Hi Neil, I visited my mother’s grave last night in St Michael’s graveyard and came across two people having sex on a grave.”

“I was horrified but they didn’t seem to care. If it had been my mother’s grave I wouldn’t have been responsible for what I would have done.”

“I took out my phone in the hope it would shame them. This was 7.15 pm. It was an absolute disgrace, dogs wouldn’t behave like that.”

“I have only buried my mother, it was shameful carry on in our graveyard."

While some people were outraged:

"If they done that on my mam and dad grave they would be looking for a plot for them self"

Others didn't see the problem:

"they could rock away on my grave I'm dead and if I could see, I'd be like fair play nothing like a bit of outdoors."

A spokesperson for St. Michael's cemetery told CorkBeo that they had not seen the video but had heard about it. The spokesperson confirmed that there are seven cameras in place in the cemetery but they are mainly focused in the front of the site as there is no power source at the far side of the graveyard.
