Dublin is set to be more chaotic than usual this bank holiday weekend as yet another storm blows in, the Dublin Marathon kicks off, and several rail services are cancelled.
Sunday will be particularly busy, with the marathon alone closing many streets and leaving people unable to cross the race path until it ends.
Making matters worse, Storm Boelo is on the way, and forecasters say it will bring heavy rain across Dublin City.
Rail Service Cancellations
Dublin will face the worst of planned rail disruptions this weekend, with a large portion of the southside DART line closed for three days.
No DARTs will run between Grand Canal Dock and Bray or Howth Junction and Donaghmede from Saturday to Monday.

Trains are expected to run only between Malahide and Grand Canal Dock on these days.
DART stations will also be closed, including at Bayside, Sutton, Howth, Lansdowne Road, Sandymount, Sydney Parade, Booterstown, Blackrock, Seapoint, Salthill and Monkstown, Dún Laoghaire, Sandycove and Glasthule, Glenageary, Dalkey, Killiney, Shankill and Woodbrook.
Public Transport Diversions
Alongside the cancellation of many DART services in the city, Dublin Bus has also announced a large number of diversions on Sunday due to the marathon.
Routes will begin to be disrupted on Friday, with the closure of Merrion Square to traffic, affecting the 15a, 15b, 19, 23 and 24.

Meanwhile, the following routes will all experience diversions on Sunday: 4, 7, 7a, 11, 11b, 13, 14, 15, 15a, 15b, 16, 19, 23, 24, 27, 37, 38, 38a, 39, 39a, 44, 47, 52, 56a, 60, 65, 65b, 68, 69, 70, 74, 77a, 80, 82, 99, 122, 150, 151.
Bus corridor routes for the C1, C2, C3, C4, E1, E2, F1, F2, F3, the G1, G2 and the S2 will also be disrupted. A full list of diversions can be viewed here.
Street Closures
As 22,500 runners descend on the city for the Dublin Marathon, many streets will be closed throughout Sunday.
Leeson Street Lower, Merrion Square South, Mount Street Crescent, Merrion Square East, and Fitzwilliam Street will be subject to staggered closures, with more roads closing as the race progresses.

Runners will head down Cuffe Street, turn at St Patrick’s Cathedral, and head up High Street and across the river. The race then continues through Phoenix Park before heading along Inchicore Road.
It passes down the South Circular Road and up to University College Dublin, then through Stillorgan Road and Merrion Road, finishing at Merrion Square.
A full list of street closures is available here.
Bad Weather
Adding to the chaos is Storm Boelo, set to bring heavy rainfall throughout the day.
Met Éireann’s Andrew Doran Sherlock told Newstalk: ‘Tonight will have rain moving in from the west and that’ll be quite heavy, especially in the south-west and west of the country. But it will become quite widespread.
‘It will come with strengthening southerly winds, so turning rather windy, but it’s more so that the strongest winds are expected more so in the north-west of the country tomorrow evening into overnight.
‘So we would anticipate warnings being issued later this morning for that.’
