Seachtain na Gaeilge is the largest Irish language festival in Ireland, and to celebrate this, the Office of Public Works (OPW) is hosting a series of events and tours ‘as Gaeilge’ at various OPW locations.

Visitors will have the opportunity to take complimentary tours at various OPW locations, including Casino Marino, Custom House Visitors Centre, Dublin Castle, Kilmainham Gaol Museum, National Botanic Gardens, Pearse Museum, Rathfarnham Castle, and Royal Hospital Kilmainham.

These free tours, led by knowledgeable OPW guides, offer visitors unique insights and stories in our native language.

From historical buildings to breathtaking locations, these tours offer a valuable cultural experience for all who attend.

Minister of State with responsibility for the Office of Public Works, Kevin “Boxer” Moran said: “Seachtain na Gaeilge is the largest Irish language and culture festival in Ireland and what better way to immerse in our native language than to visit OPW heritage locations during this festival.

"The OPW is delighted to offer tours ‘as gaeilge’ as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge ensuring individuals, groups and families experience some of our most infamous heritage attractions through the Irish language."

This initiative aims to promote and celebrate the Irish language and culture, offering visitors a unique experience.

Meanwhile, artistic young Gaeilgeoirs are invited to take part in the OPW's Seachtain na Gaeilge Colouring Competition for a chance to win a free trip to a heritage site of choice.
