Paul Mescal gets sweet shout-out on Gracie Abrams' new album

Paul Mescal has received a sweet shout-out from Gracie Abrams as she released new music on Friday.

The singer released the 16-track album, "Daughter From Hell," and had a long list of thank-yous to get through to accompany it, and one name jumped out of the list.

Eagle-eyed fans spotted Paul's name alongside those she says really helped bring the album to fruition.

"Thank you to every single player and writer across this project whose gifts help shape the identity of our album and really push it over the edge: Bryce Dessner, Justin Vernon, Marcus Mumford, Dan Nigro, Paul Mescal, Audrey Hobert, Sarah Aarons, Benjamin Lanz, James McAlister, Andrew Barr, Eddy Dunlap, Thomas Bartlett, Edgar Barrera... I admire you all," Gracie wrote.

Later in her message, she also wrote a cryptic comment "to P" that seems to be in honour of the Irish actor.

"To the fans, I wouldn't be anywhere without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. To P, for everything forever," she said. Aw!

Another big thank you went to her neighbours, "who probably heard most of these songs through the walls," and to her parents, American filmmaker J.J. Abrams and Katie McGrath.

"Most importantly, I would like to say thank you to my parents for loving their daughter from hell and for giving her every ounce of patience and trust they had," Gracie said.

Gracie sweetly captioned her message: "Daughter from Hell is out! Wow. I love every single person I made this album with.

"We really hope you enjoy it. Thank you so much for listening. I cannot wait to see you on tour."

Paul's appearance on the thank you list comes as it's revealed that he co-wrote one of the songs on the album, "Imaginary Friend."

Gracie subsequently revealed that their working together was not a "groundbreaking event" as it was "so fun to write together."
