George Clooney and Adam Sandler in "Jay Kelly".Netflix
News that the actors are set to star alongside each other in Netflix's latest flick, "Jay Kelly", is made sweeter upon hearing that the leading men will be joined by two well-known Irish ladies.
Amongst the star-studded cast are A-Listers are Dublin gal Eve Hewson and Thaddea Graham, who hails from Down. Eve, who is U2 frontman Bono's daughter, is no stranger to Netflix.
The 33-year-old starred alongside Nicole Kidman in the platform's hit series, "The Perfect Couple", in 2024. Meanwhile, Thaddea has a host of Netflix originals under her belt, including "Sex Education", "The Letter for the King", and "The Irregulars".
The film won't be the first time the Irish actors have worked alongside each other, as they were both in Sharon Horgan's hit show, "Bad Sisters".
Eve and Thaddea will be joined by a number of heavy hitters in the upcoming flick, including Billy Crudup, Laura Dern, Greta Gerwig, Riley Keough, Emily Mortimer, Isla Fisher, and Louis Partridge.
George Clooney will play the titular character, Jay. The film will follow famous movie actor Jay Kelly (Clooney) and his devoted manager Ron (Adam Sandler) as they "embark on a whirlwind and unexpectedly profound journey through Europe.
"Along the way, both men are forced to confront the choices they've made, the relationships with their loved ones, and the legacies they’ll leave behind," the movie's synopsis reads.

The film's tagline suggests that Jay will go on a journey of self-discovery throughout the film, as it simply reads: "Everybody knows Jay Kelly, but Jay Kelly doesn’t know himself."
Stacy Keach, Patrick Wilson, Nicôle Lecky, Jim Broadbent, Alba Rohrwacher, Lenny Henry, and Josh Hamilton will also star in the movie.
"Jay Kelly" is set to hit select cinema screens on 14 November 2025, while Netflix viewers will have to wait until 5 December for the movie to drop on the streaming platform.
This is not unusual for Netflix, as they often follow a similar plan when releasing films in autumn that they hope to tee up for awards season. They often have an Academy-qualifying theatrical release earlier in the season, before debuting it on their platform at the end of the year.
We can't wait to see Eve Hewson and Thaddea Graham in action later this year!
