Vevo’s LIFT initiative connects today’s up-and-coming artists to audiences around the globe through video content. Launched in 2011, Vevo's artist development program shines a spotlight on the world's freshest new talent. Vevo LIFT alumni include the likes of Sam Smith, Halsey, Khalid, Jorja Smith, SZA, Julia Michaels, Billie Eilish, and CNCO.

For the initiative, Kennedy has recorded live performances of his songs "Rome" and "All My Friends," both of which feature on his new debut album.

The Dublin native's LIFT performances follow those of YK Osiris, Kiana Ledé and AJ Mitchell, who have taken part in the program this year. “All My Friends” and “Rome” will be followed by a short “Becoming” film.

Roaring with ambition, the Irish singer-songwriter grew up in Rathcoole, Ireland. He began playing the guitar at the age of 10 and fine-tuned his craft busking in Dublin, Ireland, and Boston in the United States. His stunning 2017 debut EP Doves and Ravens received widespread praise, and follow-up single ‘Moments Passed’ amassed a phenomenal 300 million plays on streaming platforms. He has been received widespread praise for his deeply personal lyrics and powerful vocals, hailed as a “big, beautiful and bold” new voice by Beats 1’s Zane Lowe.

Since starting out playing small gigs at home and in Dublin, his fanbase has grown massively with Dermot now playing sell-out live shows across the UK, Europe, and America. He sold over 100,000 tickets in 2018 on a sold-out headline World Tour – including a date at the legendary O2 Academy Brixton and four nights at Dublin’s Olympia Theatre. Dermot Kennedy has also supported Lana Del Rey and collaborated with super producer Mike Dean, best known for his work with Kanye West and Travis Scott. October 2019 saw the release of his critically acclaimed debut album Without Fear, featuring his breakthrough single Outnumbered.

“Dermot Kennedy is an incredible talent and is one of the most exciting acts coming out of the UK” says JP Evangelista, Vevo’s SVP of Content, Programming and Marketing, “It’s been a privilege to see him grow from one of our 2018 DSCVR artists to now announce him as our new LIFT artist as we close out 2019. We can’t wait for fans to see the beautiful content we shot with him, and to watch him grow even more as an artist.”
