Netflix to release Breaking Bad movie without Bryan Cranston?

After a leak, Netflix confirmed that they are releasing a Breaking Bad movie in October. But will Bryan Cranston be in El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie at all?

Huge news for Breaking Bad fans: Nexflix is releasing a movie follow-up to the wildly popular series in October.

The news broke last weekend, when Netflix (seemingly by accident) shared some details on its platform and the New York Times published a full report. The film, titled "El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie" will be released on Netflix on October 11 before airing on AMC, the channel that was home to Breaking Bad from 2008 - 2013.

The synopsis reads: “Fugitive Jesse Pinkman runs from his captors, the law, and his past.”

It confirms that Aaron Paul will be returning as Jesse Pinkman, but eagle-eyed fans noticed that there was no mention of Bryan Cranston or his character Walter White.

Cranston himself has given no indication either way as to his involvement with the Breaking Bad movie.

It would be huge news if he is. The series ended with drug boss Walter White seemingly sacrificing his own life to save his erstwhile partner and meth cook Pinkman from an Aryan Brotherhood gang.

So, will the movie exclusively focus on Pinkman's life post-Walter White, or will it turn out that White somehow survived?

It would definitely be a treat to see Cranston reprise his iconic role.

Since Breaking Bad ended, he has played President Lyndon B. Johnson in All The Way; starred as screenwriter Dalton Trumbo in Trumbo, for which he received his first Oscar nomination; authored a New York Times bestselling memoir A Life in Parts; and appeared on London's West End and on Broadway in Network.

Cranston, born in California, traces his Irish roots through his paternal great-grandmother to County Clare.
