A football club in Dublin can be reunited with their ball… after a shot off target ended up in Wales.
Skying the ball is going to happen at least once, whether you’re the greatest footballer of all time or just starting out.
However, having the ball wash up in an entirely different country is a new one, if not a very rare one.
While out on a hike near Porth y Nant on the Llyn Peninsula in Wales, a father and son came across just that — with the pair finding a ball from Finglas United Youth FC’s U12 team that somehow made its way across the Irish Sea.
"Celyn and I have been for a wonder across the fields to Porth y Nant this afternoon where we found a football that belongs to Finglas United Youth FC under 12s from Dublin across the water in Ireland!" the father wrote on Facebook.
"If you want your ball back you are welcome to come and collect it from us!"
The club thought that the distance the ball travelled was hilarious — writing on their own Facebook, "There is missing the target and then there is the football ending up in Wales missing the target."
They also joked that the team will be undergoing a bit of shooting practice as a result of the missing ball, joking "thanks for finding our ball, I think a bit of shooting practice is in order for our under 12 team."
