The Burren is a must see .. in spring when the wild flowers are in bloom .. its pure magical
Need an awful big bucket if you ask me BUT Dingle has to be at the top-my wife would disagree a little and say it is Dingle and the Giant's Causeway. To be truthful, it is all of Ireland. A very special place on this earth and its people as so ever friendly.
I've done 8 of the 10. I have certainly had the oppotunity many times over to visit both the Folk Park and the Brewery, but they hold absolutely no interest for me...guess I'll live forever while continually enjoying other, more awe-inspiring sites-LOL!
Mulligans Of Poolbeg street... ;0
Tara - Last chance to see... Drive through the Grave mound of the Fianna.... Rath Lugh... the new M3 motorway shaves the side of it!
8 of 10 complete. Can't wait for next trip! I can also think of a few other places to add Cobh for one, and Giant's Causway and Walls of Derry.
I've only been over the waters once yet managed to hit 6 of those 10, and like others not at the specified time of year. There are so many hallowed and beautiful places, 10 does not do justice. A visit to Cobh and the Hill of Cashel should also be included.
I visited every bucket lisst of things lto ldo in Ireland. The only ONE I TOTALLY DISAGREE WITH IS THE ULSTER AMERICAN FOLK PARK. There several historical misconceptions with the MOST BLATANT THE "TYPICAL TWO STORY AMERICAN HOME." Obviously they were not aware of the many frontier homes built west of the Allegheny Mountains. I would add the Cliffs of Mohr, the Giants Causeway, the Aran Islands, Clare Island, the Burren--actually there are too many to list beginning with County Cork and traveling up the west coast all the way around to Dublin. Ireland is well worth more that one visit. AS AN IRISH AMERICAN I BELIEVE I HAVE THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS.
I did the Slea Head drive and spent the afternoon strolling around Dingle. It was my first trip to my ancestorial country and remember as we drove through Inch it was pouring rain and I thought it was going to be a miserable day but as we came along the cliffs the sun came out and the beauty of it all just took my breath away. Have not had the opportunity to get back but when i do i'll be sure to do that bucket list and more.
Thanks for the list -- I've done 6 of the 10; In agreement with Ifaris50, viewing Clew Bay on a clear day from Croagh Patrick was on my bucket list and, in my 73rd year this past June, I made it. Have hiked many Irish mountains, but that was the most rewarding and a hard walk indeed.
I've done all but the Dooleigh walk & the specific times for Newgrange & Grafton. I'll be 80 this year. I better stay away from Mayo.
Check out the new super duper M3 Motorway which got the go ahead from the Irish Govt. to dissect the ancient Tara Skryne Valley destroying 45 archaeological sites in it's wake. This Valley is older than the Valley of the Kings in Egypt, Stonehenge and Machu Pichu. Ireland's Valley of the High Kings is now under a Motorway so that you can enjoy a faster trip to Dublin :) You gotta see it to believe it, one of the wonders of the World! Book your ticket now. Soon they will have another major road near Newgrange too. Good old Ireland sure why wouldnt ya want to see it for yourself...
nice list, but how could you not include the Aran Islands? Have been to Ireland 2 X, but want to go over and over each year! Ellen
Put Belfast City on the list a great place to visit, lots of things to do and see. we spend 3 days there, visit the Giants Causway,Glenn of Antrim,Titanic ship yard,Black taxi tour. Belfast has lots of historic pubs and great places to eat.
Slieve League, Donegal, IRL; CarrickaReade Rope Bridge, Antrim, NI; etc. I've been to all in past years, starting to revisit
